SIMREX has been our title sponsor for 2008 and 2009 and has contributed mentoring, funding, tools and materials. SIMREX Corporation develops and manufactures a wide range of high performance wireless data products. These products are used in a variety of demanding applications including the following; telemetry, UAV, robotics, AVL, SCADA, ITS, railway and traffic control.
Hemisphere GPS has generously donated an A100 GPS sensor. This sensor will provide positioning information that will be integrated with the inertial system on the autonomous rover.
Hemisphere GPS designs and manufactures innovative, cost-effective GPS and complimentary products for positioning, guidance, and machine control applications. Hemisphere is a global company with sales in more than 35 countries.
Microstrain has donated a GX1 inertial sensor to team 0x27. This sensor is useful for precisely determining the attitude of our ROV. We plan to use it for station keeping and attitude control and to also do experiments with short duration autonomous maneuvers.
KVH has generously donated a DSP-3000 Fiber Optic Gyro to Team0x27. The gyro will provide a low drift bearing angle that will be used to determine the position of the vehicle while used addition to an odometer on the ground. We plan on using this sensor to get an accurate short time position feedback to account for GPS uncertainties to perform precise navigation.
